Enjoy a three-day celebration of cross country skiing and Nordic Legends. The Birkie is Western Canada’s Premier Nordic Ski Event and one of only three Birkebeiner Loppets in the world – Norway and the USA host the other two. Formed in 1985, the Birkie continues the tradition of honouring perseverance, courage and fortitude…as well as lots of Nordic Fun for the whole family!

Do it with a Training Group

Join one of our Birkie Training Groups designed to help you conquer your first Birkie or improve your 30th! If you are an experienced skier beyond complete beginner (beginner lessons are offered by local ski clubs), you will enjoy the challenge, instruction, and camaraderie of our training groups. Classes are taught by experienced trained Instructors who will help you achieve your goals.
