Trail Conditions
 
  In the summer, the Birkie event trails can be used for running, hiking, or cycling. The Blackfoot Ultra marathon is held on these trails every year at the beginning of May.  

Birkie Event Trails - As of February 1, 2008

Waskehegan Staging Area: 
All trails open and double track set to Islet Lake Feb. 1, 2008
Includes lower Winter
Conditions: Excellent 

Blackfoot Lake Staging Area:
Jan . 30 double tracked trails: Springs, Heron Hollow, Gasline, Whitetail, Buckrun, Blackfoot connectors.
Conditions: Excellent 

Islet Lake Staging Area:
All trails open and double track set to Waskehegan Feb. 1
Trackset Jan 18: Mooselink
Conditions: Excellent 

Central Staging Area:
Jan, 18 Trails Trackset: Mooselink, Beaver, Tie In, Upper Round Up to Blackfoot trail 
Note 1: To follow tracked trails from Islet Lake to Blackfoot Lake Staging Area, take Highline to Mooselink, Mooselink to Central Staging Area. At bottom of hill out of Central Staging Area take Beaver loop to left. Tracks start at top of first hill. Follow Beaver to Tie In. Tie In to Roundup, Roundup to Blackfoot, Blackfoot to Whitetail or Buckrun and follow either of these to Blackfoot Lake Staging area 

Track set km open:  Approximately 65 km 

Notes:
Dogs are not allowed on track-set ski trails.
All dogs must be leashed within PRA on packed (but not track-set) trails and in staging areas.
